Inspirational Photo Collection

It is amazing what we can find on the internet these days. I am becoming a big fan of different websites that have compiled great things from the web, organized them, and allow me to pick a topic and browse all sorts of sites about it.
What I have most recently found on 'stumble upon' is a collection of popular photos. I looked through and was observing what makes these photos so impactful? I observed that most of the photos had great lighting. The framing of each shot was well thought out and placed emphasis where it should be. In addition most all of the photos used leading lines to emphasize the main focus.

It made me realize how many images are out there. Who is to decide which images become popular or become viewed by millions? I suppose we must do our best with our photos and capture what we are passionate about. Why waste time capturing things we dislike when most people will not view the image? If we are proud of an image then even if people do not see it we can still be satisfied with our efforts.

The Obliteration Room

I 'stumbled' upon a great art installation this morning. The artist Yayoi Kusama staged a room in the gallery to look like a home. She then painted everything in the room a brilliant white. She named the installation The Obliteration Room. When the show started all of the youngest visitor so the museum were given thousands of dot sticker and let loose in the room. They were allowed to place as many stickers anywhere they wanted in the room.

As I think about doing my final show at the end of this semester I think of great ideas like this. What could be cooler than a great interactive installation?
