It's that time of year again when the Iditarod comes to Alaska. This year there is a great compilation of shots from the race. It was great to see all of the different shots that were captured. The site below shows some great angles and emphasis on some of the looked over elements of the race. Some show the paths made in the snow while others focus on some of the people coming out to watch the race.
The Iditarod offers some great photo opportunities, be it the Northern Lights or the great lighting produced by head lamps and fires built into a snow windbreak.
This shot shows the great relationship between the mushers and their dogs. I think this is probably my favorite shot of the group. It definitely shows an aspect of the race that isn't normally captured. Most shots are of the race itself and getting to the finish. To me this shot shows the journey, the years spent training the dogs and preparing for such a journey.
