I have been looking for fun ideas of video work to inspire my projects for class. Here is a video that I came across. It reminds me of the video that Jase and Ben made in Italy of the process of drawing. Time-lapse work paired with other forms of art is an interesting concept. I enjoy the partnership of media.
This next video is a poem put to video. I enjoy how colorful it is and the various different camera angles. It had appropriate music accompaniment and visual aids to the words. It was also interesting having drawings going across the video. There were many different layers. I think that some of the layers could possibly be considered distracting.
The last video is just pretty cool. It is cool for the fact that the content is amazing. Does having amazing content make up for a poor setting of filming? I don't think so. I think there is a lot to be said about simplifying a setting and taking the extra five minutes to set the scene for a video. Even if it is just a home video. Given there are times that you need to just film because the event is candid. But given the circumstances I believe this video could have a different setting and be a much more effective video of the band.
